Grosorb

Grosorb
whats this?

Product Description

Grosorb is an environmentally friendly organically based soil wetter for use in pots, hanging baskets, gardens and lawns. Suitable and cost effective for use in commercial nurseries, golf and bowling clubs, all grassed areas and domestic gardens. Safe, easy to apply, eliminates the messy application of a liquid wetting agent.

The use of Grosorb conserves water and reduces the frequency of irrigation treatments. Grosorb assists the plants root development by an even distribution of water to all areas of the plants container, or when applied to garden beds and lawns, Grosorb eliminates ‘run-off’ and allows water to soak through the soil. Grosorb also assists the effective use of fertiliser by channeling the nutrient directly into the root zone.

For corrective irrigation practice use Grosorb, most Western Australian soils suffer a hydrophobic (water repellent) condition, commonly referred to as ‘run-off’. This condition occurs naturally, but particularly in soils which are regularly tilled and as gardens and lawns become more established. Similarly garden pots, planters and hanging baskets are affected. Laboratory testing has proven that when Grosorb is mixed with dry soil at the recommended rate, up to 28% moisture retention was attained.

Benefits include

  • Non toxic formulation will not contaminate soil, waterways or living organisms.
  • Granules last longer than re-wetting liquids due to the filtering action.
  • Rewetting penetration eliminates dry spots.
  • Mixes easily with other granulated fertilisers eliminating extra liquid applications.
  • Increases uniform growth and plant quality.
  • Increases air filled porosity in growing media.
  • Extends intervals between irrigation treatments.
  • Cost per square metre is comparable to liquids.
  • Granules fall between leaves unlike liquids which coat surface and can burn plant.
  • Grosorb is 100% developed and manufactured in Australia.

Application Rates

Grosorb should be applied at a rate of 40gm per square metre to containers, garden beds, and lawns. Apply evenly to the surface, lightly work into the top soil and water in well.
For pot plants and hanging baskets apply Grosorb at the rate of a teaspoon for every 75mm diameter width of pot or hanging basket.

BAILEYS PLANT PILLS

The Baileys Plant Pill is the preferred method by foresters in fertilising designed to suit the requirements necessary for healthy growth in all types of trees.

Baileys Plant Pills have been especially formulated for Australian soils and conditions. Aided by our experience, over the past 3 years we have been directly involved with the Western Australian forestry industry, and have decided on formulations suitable for most forestry requirements.

Plant pills are manufactured from a unique blend of modern fertiliser ingredients. Each pill is compressed under 32 tonnes of compression which lengthens the release of the fertiliser nutrients, activated by a combination of moisture and soil bacteria, continues to release for up to 6-8 months.

Baileys Forest Starter Plant Pills provide a convenient, safe and efficient method of providing plant nutrition to trees and container plants, and is safe and sure method of applying fertiliser to your new plantings or transplants. Pill sizes available 10g, 20g & 50g. The Baileys Plant Pill can be applied at anytime during the growing year. The best application times are those which coincide with the potting-on or transplanting or for established plants during early Spring when the species become active.
Specifically formulated for nurserymen, landscapers, tree growers, foresters, nurserymen, & domestic use.

These Plant Pills aid in the establishment and maintenance of trees, shrubs and container stock and baskets in all situations. The balanced formulation eliminates any guess work or the need for messy conventional fertilisers. When applied as directed, the Plant Pills ensure that your plants receive the correct dosage at all times. The nutrients are easily absorbed to promote health and vigorous growth. They are especially effective for transplanting, potting-on or planting-out and are safe to use on all species including Camellias, Azaleas, Roses, Hydrangeas, Hibiscus, Conifers etc.

They are high in Nitrogen (23%), to counter low nitrogen levels in sandy soils while meeting the special requirements of native plants. Their low Phosphorous content (5%) helps to establish well developed root systems and meet the known low requirements of native species.
High Potassium (10%), they are ideally suited to compensate for the poor Potassium content in most soils, especially land previously used for pasture and hay making.
Minor elements Cu, Zn, Mn and Mo are included to compensate for local soil deficiencies of these trace elements.

The Advantages of Plant Pills

Plant Pills are ideal for hanging baskets, potting on and seedling transplants. They ensure the application of an accurate amount of nutrient for each particular situation. Trials have produced excellent results with vegetables and seedling, annual and flowering species planted into hanging baskets, and larger decorative pots, patio tubs and feature gardens.

Calculate the number of Plant Pills by allowing 1 x 20g Plant Pill for each 25 cm of the plants height or circumference of the plants foliage. After digging the planting hole and position the plant, return the back fill almost to the top of the root ball, place the required number of Plant Pills about 2-3 centimetres from the root tips. Complete the back fill, firm the soil at the base of the plant and water well.

Calculate the number of Plant Pills by allowing 1 x 10g Plant Pill for each 2 centimetres of the tree’s trunk diameter, simply bury the pill (or pills if more than 1 x 10g required per hole) about 4-5 centimetres below the soil at intervals of about 1 metre, below the foliage on the area of the dripline water well.

NOTE: Correct fertiliser application is based on weight (eg Kg per ha/g per square metre) making it easy to convert the recommended requirement for each plant into the number of 10 or 20g plant pills as required. Position plant pills as shown to ensure the plant’s developing root system can absorb all available nutrients.
